About Supported Employment Services

Supported Employment at Aurora Wellness uses the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model — the most evidence-based approach to helping people with serious mental illness find and maintain competitive employment.

Unlike traditional vocational programs that focus on job readiness training in a controlled setting, IPS integrates employment specialists directly into the behavioral health treatment team. The goal is to get you into a real job, in a real workplace, with ongoing support.

Services include job development (finding opportunities that match your interests and skills), job coaching, employer education, benefits counseling, and ongoing support after you are hired.

Who We Can Help

  • Current Aurora Wellness patients who want to find or maintain employment
  • Individuals whose mental health condition has created barriers to employment
  • People who are re-entering the workforce after a period of disability or hospitalization
  • Those who need support navigating benefits (SSI, SSDI, Medicaid) alongside working

What to Expect

  1. You will be paired with a dedicated Employment Specialist who is a member of your behavioral health treatment team.

  2. Together you will develop a vocational profile based on your skills, interests, and work history — with zero judgment about your past.

  3. Your Employment Specialist will reach out to employers on your behalf, accompany you to job interviews if helpful, and provide on-site coaching after you start.

  4. Ongoing support is available for as long as you need it — there is no arbitrary time limit on supported employment services.

Is This Right for Me?
