Outpatient Mental Health Services

About Outpatient Mental Health Services

Outpatient mental health services are ongoing therapeutic appointments that take place in our clinic (or via telehealth), allowing you to continue living your normal life while receiving professional support.

Unlike inpatient or intensive programs, outpatient therapy is designed for individuals who have a stable living situation and can manage their symptoms between sessions with appropriate support.

Sessions may be individual (one-on-one with your therapist), group-based (with a small group of peers working through similar challenges), or a combination of both.

Who We Can Help

  • Adults dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, or life transitions
  • Individuals who have completed a higher level of care (IOP or inpatient) and are stepping down
  • People seeking ongoing support for managing a chronic mental health condition
  • Those who want to build coping skills, improve relationships, or process difficult experiences

What to Expect

  1. Sessions are typically 45–55 minutes. Most clients start with weekly appointments; frequency adjusts as you progress.

  2. Your therapist will work with you to set treatment goals during your first few sessions. You will review progress regularly together.

  3. Evidence-based approaches used at Aurora include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and trauma-focused modalities.

  4. Group therapy sessions run in cycles of 6–12 weeks with a consistent small group of 6–10 participants.

Is This Right for Me?

You may benefit from this service if:

  • You are stable enough to manage between appointments with coping skills
