Substance Use Disorder Treatment

About Substance Use Disorder Treatment

Substance Use Disorder (SUD) is a complex brain condition — not a moral failing. At Aurora Wellness, we approach addiction with the same clinical rigor and compassion we apply to every condition we treat.

Our substance use disorder program combines evidence-based behavioral therapies with medication-assisted treatment (MAT) when appropriate, addressing both the substance use and any co-occurring mental health conditions simultaneously.

We follow a dual diagnosis model: most people with substance use disorders also have an underlying mental health condition (depression, anxiety, trauma, bipolar disorder) that must be treated alongside the addiction for recovery to be sustainable.

Who We Can Help

  • Adults struggling with alcohol, opioid, stimulant, or other substance use disorders
  • Individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders (dual diagnosis)
  • People who have relapsed after prior treatment and are seeking a fresh start
  • Those looking to reduce use through harm reduction approaches

What to Expect

  1. Treatment begins with a comprehensive evaluation to assess the type and severity of substance use and identify any co-occurring mental health conditions.

  2. Your individualized treatment plan may include individual therapy (CBT, MI, DBT), group therapy, family education, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) such as buprenorphine or naltrexone.

  3. We integrate community support resources including 12-step programs, SMART Recovery, and peer support specialists.

  4. Our program follows a continuum of care model — starting at the appropriate level of intensity and stepping down as you achieve stability.
